Getting the right perspective

Hi. I can’t believe it’s Tuesday! I find myself typing this in a hotel room called the library. So I am surrounded by books waiting for a meeting to start in half an hour.

this time of year it’s worth remembering that your employer is likely to be examining new budgets, spend and all that kind of stuff. As a result internal staff can get twitchy, but for me as a Christian at work I have learnt the lesson of the Bible verse I have this week which is from Mark ch 8 and vs 34-35 : And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “…….. whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it”.

a real truth about faith in The Lord Jesus Christ is that this relationship means that I don’t have to fight and struggle to “save” myself. In fact that effort will result in disaster actually. I can just give everything over to Him and then no matter what I experience now, the end result will be Good.

i heard a lovely phrase yesterday which was ” it will be all right in the end, and if its not alright now it’s just not the end yet”

As a Christian this is exactly right. Life at work can be challenging but in the very end it will be fantastic , this is Gods promise, and if I simply remember that then actually even if its not alright now, it can be!

Well it’s 1pm and I had better get ready for my meeting……..
