Quite a busy week this week again but I did manage to get a visit in to my parents on the way up to Bristol where I had a meeting with one of our key customers.
I used the train for some of the journey so I could catch up on the days work and overheard a conversation that brought me back to my thoughts I posted last week. ( have a look to remind yourself)
Something in the back of my mind reminded me of some guidance we have from God in a rarely read OT book of the Bible called Micah. It took me a while to find it but in Chapter 6 v 8 we are encouraged as follows: “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. ”
And this v 8 reminded me of something Matthew, a friend in Church said to me some time ago, that it is remarkable that the more Christ like we are, the more our employer seems to want to keep us.
So as I go about my business I am to be 1) righteous and absolutely fair to all regardless of their status in life. 2) to show kindness freely and willingly to others. 3) to live humbly being always aware of the fellowship of the greatness and sovereignty of God will be the best witness and help all I work with.
As I had this in mind I must also report that it really helped my meeting – particularly the being fair to all and remaining humble bits.
Have a good week
