Morning
At work I am having to consider the skills, knowledge, experience and behavior of a lot of staff as well as considering myself in these areas and my thought early this morning went to 1 Corinthians 1 v 29-31.
These short verses state… “that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”
It seems to me good to remember that grace eliminates for us the possibility of any boasting or any “self-glory”. Regardless of our material accomplishments—no matter how many degrees we may have, how much money we may have accumulated, or how many good deeds we may have done—no one can boast before God because, as verse 30 says, we are “of Him.” Here is the key to understanding this. In spiritual terms, all that we have accomplished has been done only because of what He gave us.
Now that puts ME in MY place!
I have issues with Pride and Patience – too much of one and not enough of the other! LOL
Have a good week
Mark
Very interesting points Mark. For me the girl on the checkout is as invaluable as the company boss. Afterall ,we could not do without her, and dare I say we probably could not stick at doing her job for long. Its just sad that the financial differencials are so wide. I never really understood wether the proverbial pie that we all eat from is of a fixed size or wether it is an ever increasing size.
