In Everything?

Good morning once again

Acts 15 vs 14-18 says.. “Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name.  And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:

” After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up;  So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the LORD who does all these things. Known to God from eternity are all His works”

In Acts 15:14-18,  James makes an astounding series of statements following Peter’s speech to the assembled elders. Notice how clearly God states that He initiates His works through men and women. Acts 10 gives us the story of the conversion of Cornelius and his house. Neither Peter, whom God sent, nor Cornelius, who received him, knew of the other’s existence. God, working in both men, opened the door and brought them together.

We have been encouraged by our Pastor to read the new testament completely through this year, or at the very least the 4 gospels a few times and as I do this it is clear again that when I link back all the thousands of promises for me and the countless statements about our heavenly Father that when I use hindsight in my life it is obvious that God is there in everything – the highs and the lows. So what ever our week brings, it does us well to remember that as a “Christian at work”  God is there in it with a plan to bring eventual good.
