I must admit that I sometimes enter the office thinking that I have no idea what I am to do. It’s not a pleasant mind set to be in but even as a Christian at work, challenges can be so intense sometimes that it is easy to get knocked off kilter and forget that God knows all and is on my side.
Hebrews 11 v 8 says something about Abraham quite powerful an encouraging which is:
“…And he went out, not knowing where he was going..”
As a Christian we are involved in an incredible adventure, it’s not until a person accepts Jesus that this really dawns on them, but we are blind to many particulars that will affect us. What is emphasized from Abraham’s life in this passage and indeed in the Old Testament all those years before is his trust in God. Trust is the most powerful fruit, the strongest, clearest evidence, of belief. Trust is faith in action, setting a truly converted person apart from one who believes only intellectually. The Christian must live his life by faith.
So if I set off into work not actually “knowing where I am going” ( and I dont mean if I need the A30 or the A39! ha ha) I need have no fear or uncertainty, because I know that my day is already mapped out by God and as he said about Joseph, “God planned it for good”.
Enjoy the sun and have a good week
