So, what’s the difference?

Morning and welcome to Friday

I was looking back over the week considering how it had gone and what lessons I could learn as I usually do on a Friday so that ideally I can improve where I need to next week. My thoughts then took me back to Sunday, the start of this week and I then also today read the following:

Hebrews 4 v 2 “For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it”

In regard to faith, we must understand what the Bible means by its frequent encouragement to “hear.” Paul writes in Hebrews 3 v 15, “Today, if you will hear His voice.” He is not telling us to hear the sound of His voice, but to understand what God wants us to learn through what Paul, the preacher, is expounding in his epistle. Paul is urging us to take the time now to “get” it, to “see” or “grasp” what God is teaching.

So after I left our church meeting on Sunday earlier this week, what did I take on board to put into practice? In other words what is the difference in my Christian walk this week compared to last week?  Let’s hope that in a small way we are growing more like Christ week on week. If not then I guess we need to ask why?

Have a good weekend.

Mark
