So from last week we saw that the Bible tells us there was a singular beginning to the universe/space time and that the earth is suspended in space. But did you know that c2000 years ago the Bible also explains to us how every object around us is made and that it is made from Atoms!
The writer to the Hebrew church MUST have had a God inspired word about how things are made and that atoms are the basic building blocks of ordinary matter. That atoms can join together to form molecules, which in turn form most of the objects around us.
Why do I say this?
Well, listen to what was written in the book of Hebrews chapter 11:
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen are NOT made of things which are visible” ( capitals are mine).
Clearly the Bible is not a scientific book. We don’t teach Physics from the book of Daniel! But when one considers this simple language one has to ask, how did this ancient writer know that what we see ( the stuff around us and the world and everything) is made up of invisible stuff?
What could he mean by this? What did he mean by “things which are not visible? Was it a fluke that he knew what we only discovered recently – that things we see are made from things we don’t see – namely atoms?
I am sure that you will begin to realise and have to agree that there is now a growing amount of “flukes” that simply cant be flukes – That there was a singular beginning of space time, of everything , the earth is suspended and everything is made of atoms all spoken clearly about thousands of years ago. Only the creator could have known this. Science was hundreds/thousands of years behind getting even close to knowing this stuff.
But there is a lot more and next week I will show you what the Bible says about the laws of thermodynamics. It explains them perfectly!
The evidence grows and grows that we ignore the Bible at our peril and that we CAN trust it. When we read about the fracture between God and man, how God sent Jesus to solve this problem and what it mean to be a Christian we can trust that our eternal future can be completely certain and our life here can be full of a peace and purpose – if we follow its instruction for accept Jesus.
There is loads more but for now I leave you and next week we hit the big time!!!
Have a good week
