A little earlier with my Blog this time as I am away for a bit soon and wont have access to this site.
I did promise last time that we will see that the Bible talks about the law of thermodynamics. How can this possibly be?! How could someone writing in the ancient world, millennia before modern man actually discovered these unbreakable laws of the Universe, know about them?
Well we know that the 1st law of Thermodynamics has done away with initial thoughts led by Sir Hoyle where it was thought by him and others that energy was in a steady state and there was continuous creation. This has been fully dispelled and science now knows that there is currently no creation happening now and will never be any creation of energy going on in the future.
This 1st Law states that although energy can be changed from one form to another it can’t be created.
The 2nd law of Thermodynamics states that in all physical processes every ordered system over time tends to become more disordered. In other words, everything is running down and wearing out as energy is becoming less and less available for use.
So what did the Bible say about this thousands of years ago.
- Genesis explains to us in the 2nd chapter the 1st Law of thermodynamics: “Thus the Heavens and Earth were finished and all the host of them”. the word finished in the original language means an action completed never to be done again! God’s input of energy in creation including creating energy was done and finished ( remember he rested fro this creative work on day 7) so that energy is no longer being created. Exactly as we now know!!
- In the book of Psalms 102 we clearly read about the 2nd law as follows ” You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish but You will endure… the will grow old like a garment… but You are the same.”
There it is in clear language – the 2nd Law!! Come on, surely you can see this as clearly as I can. It’s great isn’t it! And in such easy to understand language as well. Even a child could grasp that clothes get old.
As we discover more and more about our wonderful universe and this special planet, science simply continues to reaffirm what the bible has been saying for centuries. So I really don’t understand why so many kick against at least having an honest look at what the Bible says.
For example the Bible tells us very clearly how we can have a relationship with the Creator God and how we can experience a new type of abundant life right now. Surely it is worth having a look into this if you are not experiencing this wonderful truth already? Just read the book ( called a Gospel) of John. It will WOW you! What’s stopping you from at least finding out or encouraging others to have a look? You or others have absolutely nothing to lose!
Next time I will show you how the Bible tells us about the shape of planet Earth – yes, once again the Bible was light years ahead of science and if only people had taken Scripture seriously they would not have thought you could fall off the end of our planet!
Eventually Christopher Columbus saw what the Bible said, but this is for my next Blog
Have a lovely weekend
