remain steady…..

Good morning folk

Loving the sunshine in the SW of the UK at the moment.

Work always seems so much easier when we have the sun don’t you think!

Ephesians 4 v 14 reads: “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.”

It is common I have noticed at work for people to take the easy way, the path of least resistance. They allow themselves to be blown along with the prevailing cultural wind, even with their beliefs and morals. Taking no thought to their course or direction, they follow along with the current trends because it is easier to “go with the flow.” Work can be a place that hots up really quickly if you make yourself different – like retaining a Christian standpoint

When bad things happen or when colleagues realize that they have ended up somewhere that they never imagined they would be, instead of deeply considering the course of their lives, many merely shrug their shoulders and call it “fate” or “circumstance.” In doing this, they show that they are ruled by the swirling winds of society or work culture around them. Rather than exercising control over their lives, remaining close to God, they allow those trends and influences to direct their journeys through life and their behaviour at work. I know because it has happened to me.

But now as I say grace at meals with work colleagues ( who look a bit embarrassed) and as I stay strong in my faith the impact is actually very very positive and nothing to fear.

So if you share my faith then I do commend avoiding being thrown around by a variety of changing winds as my verse speaks about. And if you don’t share my faith, this verse is still worth while following – the Bible is a very practical book actually!

Take care all
